Parents from Gatesville, Texas, Erika and Cody Archie, had created an argument on the internet, when they had revealed that they charged their daughter with rent, as she is staying at their home. The parents had stated that they are doing that so their daughter would learn the financial responsibility in her life.

The parents are making videos on TikTok about their life on a ranch. They recently said that they are taking money from their daughter who just finished high school and doesn’t want to go to college.

Their daughter, Kylie Deason, graduated high school in May 2022, and her father wants her to start paying rent in June 2022 because she said she doesn’t want to go to college.
Her father, Cody Archie, said, “The general idea is that since [Kelly] graduated and I told her … I told her, June, first of all, if you continue to live here, our rent will be paid.”

His wife, Erica, thought it would be better if he waited a bit more before asking for rent. She didn’t think it was fair to ask for money right away. Cody said that $200 a month is a very low price to pay for living in their parents’ house.

The couple were thinking that they are going easy on their daughter, as they stated that $200 for a month is not much to live with parents, where your food is ready, and your clothes are clean and folded.

Many people were disagreeing with them about their action towards their daughter. They had commented on the TikTok as,

“You brought her into this world, so you have to deal with it,”
“I will never collect rent from my children. I will raise them myself. How can you take your child’s money? ”
Another said: “$200 is a bargain. I’d charge more.”
“Why does she want to live free?” what do you think? Let us know.
