Former President Barack Obama has finally put the alien conspiracy theories to rest

Former President Barack Obama has finally put the alien conspiracy theories to rest, and he did it with one of the funniest lines you will hear all year.
It started back in February, when Obama appeared on a podcast and casually said aliens are “real” during a lightning-round question. The internet exploded. Trump accused him of leaking classified information and ordered UFO files to be declassified. The world lost its mind.

So Obama went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to set the record straight. When Colbert told him “nobody believed you” after his Instagram clarification, Obama did not back down. Instead, he said this:

“For those of you who still think we’ve got little green men underground somewhere, one of the things you learn as president is the government is terrible at keeping secrets. If there were aliens or alien spaceships or anything under the control of the United States government that we knew about, seen, photographs, what have you, I promise you, some guy guarding the installation would have taken a selfie with one of the aliens and sent it to his girlfriend to impress her. There would be leaks.”
He is not wrong. In the age of smartphones and social media, a secret of that magnitude would have been all over TikTok before lunchtime.

Obama then added that if first contact ever does happen, he would like to volunteer as Earth’s official emissary. “I think I would be a good emissary for the planet,” he said. “I have some experience in statecraft and diplomacy.”

From viral podcast moment, to Trump demanding declassification, to a full Late Show clarification, this entire story arc has been peak 2026. The truth is out there, apparently, and according to the 44th president, it would not stay secret for long.
