ICON DEAD. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing

Martin Mull, who played Roseanne, died at the age of 80.
Martin Mull died on Thursday, June 27th, after being sick for a long time. He was 80 years old. Television Line says that his daughter Maggie shared the sad news on Instagram:

“It breaks my heart to say that my father died at home on June 27th, after a brave battle with a long illness.” He was famous for being great at all kinds of creative tasks and for making commercials for Red Roof Inn. That joke would make him laugh. He was always funny. Friends, coworkers, fellow artists, comedians, musicians, and, most importantly, many, many dogs will miss my dad very much. His wife and daughter will also miss him a lot. I loved him very much.”

Martin was best known for his time on the show Roseanne as Leon Carp, Roseanne’s rude boss from 1991 to 1997. He then played Mr. Kraft, Sabrina’s annoying and rule-following principal, on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which starred Melissa Joan Hart. Martin was there from Seasons 2 to 4, and he also played lead roles on Veep and Arrested Development. The second one got him nominated for an Emmy. When his former co-stars heard the news of his death, they spoke out right away in his honor.

Michael Fishman, who played DJ Conner on both Roseanne and The Conners, wrote this:

“Martin Mull is a great man.” He had a lot of talent and was always funny. He was even more amazing in real life than he was on camera. He made the world a better place. Maybe the other side needed more laughs.

A picture of Melissa Joan Hart and Martin from a Season 2 episode was shared. Hart played Sabrina Spellman. They look happy and are dressed like hippies:

People who knew and liked Maggie Mull flocked to her tribute and had nothing but nice things to say about her father:

No Better Love
Everyone who met Martin Mull, worked with him, or just watched him on TV or in movies seemed to enjoy his warmth and sense of humor. Still, he loved his family and puppies more than anything else. The actor, who seemed to hide his illness, has died. He is survived by his wife Wendy Haas and daughter Maggie. Besides that, he was smart; he had both a BFA and an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. All of his shows and the hearty laughs he gave to millions of people will always remember him.

Martin, please rest in peace. Sending love and light to your family and everyone who knew and loved you.
